  • the determination of the frequencies of different β-globin mutations in the thalassaemic Romanian population, using DGGE, ARMS, and RFLP
  • the determination of genotype-phenotype correlations in Romanian thalassaemic patients
  • prenatal diagnosis of β-thalassaemia
  • the implementation of a centre for thalassaemia diagnosis in Romania with their partner Fundeni Clinical Institute
  • training activities conveying the genetics of thalassaemia to undergraduate and PhD students.
